Chin

Location
Chin State is located in the west of Myanmar, sharing borders with India in the north and west, with Rakhine State in the south, and with Sagaing and Magway Divisions in the east. It covers an area of 13,907 sq. miles.
Population
The population of Chin State is 473,000, and the population density is 32 persons per square mile.
Inhabitants
A large majority of the people are Chins. Mros (Mayo), Khamis and Bamars form significant numbers in the southern and western parts of Chin State.
Religion
The majority of the people are Christians and there are also Buddhists.
Dialects
Because Chin State is hilly and access is difficult, there is a slight difference in the languages spoken from one region to another.
How to get there?
Pha-an is the capital of Kayin State, located 315 km south of Yangon. There are several alternatives of travelling to Pha-an including an express lane highway and a rail service. The drive from Yangon to Pha-an is about 7 hours.
